Today Lokomotiv Novosibirsk came to Moscow. The head coach of the team Sergey Babkov took for the game against CSKA 11 players. In the evening they had a 1,5-hour practice in USH CSKA. Before it Sergey Babkov agreed to answer several questions for our site:

What are your first impressions from the work as a coach?

- It was difficult to become a coach after a player career. I thought that I know all in basketball but I was wrong. There are a lot of things that I need to know in my new work. Every day I meet new problems I have to work at. But now after three years I feel my self well.

After the leadership in Division A how do you feel your self in Superleague A?

- Of course, it is another level. Other team, other players, other basketball tactics. It was much easier in Division B.

Why did you decide to work in Lokomotiv?

- I played in this team in the beginning of my career. The president of the club asked me to come and work here and I agreed.

What does your team as a most eastern team in Superleague has?

Of course, we have some problems. We need to make many documents in Moscow. Some legionnaires don’t agree to come to Novosibirsk. It is Siberia; some players come here, some of them not. But they are professional players, they are playing for money.

Is interest to the team in Novosibirsk big?

Yes. Many spectators come to all our games. They ask us about our problems, about our plans. The interest in the city is big.

What are your targets in this season?

In our first year here we have to stay in Superleague. Of course we are not going to return to Superleague B. We need to stay, we need to look at our players and decide who of them are ready to play here, who not. We need to decide who of them must stay in the team.
