Today at 7 pm ET (3 am on Saturday, Moscow time) our team will play against NBA club as a visitor for the first time in it's history. The first opponent of CSKA in Euroleague American Tour will be Orlando Magic.
Officially Orlando started practicing only on Monday - before that the players practiced individually. During this week team played two exhibition games, losing to Atlanta on Monday 101-118 (R.Lewis 22, D.Howard 17 + 8 blocks, Redick 12) and winning against Charlotte on Wednesday 118-80 (D.Howard 20 + 8 rebounds + 5 blocks, R.Lewis 17, Pietrus 13, Redick 12, Nelson 10).
“I told our guys, and I believe it, that this will be the toughest game of the early pre-season, only because you can tell, watching them on film, they’re so far ahead of where the NBA teams are right now, in terms of execution,” Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said to his club's official website.
"Our guys are still affected by acclimatization symptoms. According to that we organized our practicing schedule, slightly moving practices trying to get to our usual rhythm on a game day. Everyone is healthy to some extent. Victor Khryapa is having some back problems - we think because of a difficult flight. I hope we already used to a beautiful Orlando arena and we will try to play our game against Magic," CSKA head coach Ettore Messina said.
