Vitaly Fridzon to continue with CSKA

Guard Vitaly Fridzon (30 y.o., 195 cm) signed new 2-year contract with our club with the option for another season.

The Russian National Team player defends CSKA colors from 2013, solidifying his position as the VTB United League best scorer. Vitaly has become one of the key elements in Dimitris Itoudis offensive and defensive systems, he starts the games often. Fridzon played 186 games for CSKA (93 starts), averaging 8.2 points (50.7% two-pointers, 42.9% three-pointers, 85.1% free throws), 2.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.7 steals in 17.7 minutes.

Vitaly is a veteran who spent many years in CSKA. He is deadly shooter with very serious professional approach to the game. Every time when we set the optional practice he comes to the gym to do what he is doing best – to shoot the ball. He is helping the team to spread defenses, shows highest motivation and fighting spirit on both ends of the floor. His experience is necessary for our team in the next years.

I am happy to stay with the team, where we have friends, like-minded people, true winners; I am thankful to the coaches and management for trust in me. Now, when we had perfect season behind our backs, it is difficult to expect even more. Still I know that it will be tougher, that the opponents will jump at us with bigger motivation. That means that we have to roll our sleeves up and work even harder. We kept the core of the team and together we will try to become even stronger.
