Federal department of the Ministry of Defense ‘Central Sports Club of the Army’ (main CSKA), professional basketball club CSKA and basketball club ‘Volgaburmash’ (previously known as VBM-SGAU) signed the contract that gives the club from Samara an opportunity to be named CSKA and to use the logo of the men club.

The agreement lasts up to 2008 but in case the sides would be satisfied with the collaboration it would be prorogued. Women CSKA would stay for the 2006/07 season in Samara.
