Today morning Moscow army team by the charter flight from airport Vnukovo-1 went to Madrid to the third game of Euroleague TOP16 against local Real. Forward of CSKA Sergey Monya did not come with the team, because he did not recover from the sick yet and doctors advised him to stay in Moscow.
Today morning Moscow army team by the charter flight from airport Vnukovo-1 went to Madrid to the third game of Euroleague TOP16 against local Real. Forward of CSKA Sergey Monya did not come with the team, because he did not recover from the sick yet and doctors advised him to stay in Moscow. Younger Yaroslav Korolev replaced him in this trip.
The flight to Spain took about 5 hours. After the landing players and coached forced to hide their skirts because of the good spring warp weather in Madrid (15 degrees). The trip to the hotel took about ten minutes only. The hotel where CSKA lives was built in Royal style. There are old beautiful furniture and pictures in the rooms.
After the accommodation and rest army team went to have some food, and then video and trip to the arena to have traditional 2-hour evening practice.
The head coach of CSKA Dusan Ivkovic:
This season Real with coach Malkovic is on the top in all competitions. For a long time they were leaders of Spanish championship, participated in King Cup, moved to TOP16 where won 1 of two games. Both CSKA and Real has American guards and we are expect interesting duel like Holden – Bennett, Brown – Bullock. We need to be careful and control the game very good. Real is the best offensive rebound team in Euroleague now. We have some problems with our roster. Monya who was sick did not come with us. Papaloukas came to Madrid, but he missed 5 days, did not participate in practices. But I am always optimistic, and our target is always to win the game.
