After the VTB Promo-Cup draw held today it became known that ASK Riga will be the first opponent for CSKA in the tournament that will take place from December 20 to 22 on our club’s arena.
Other quarterfinal pairings: Zalgiris Kaunas – BC Kiev, Khimki – Azovmash Mariupol, Prokom Sopot – Dynamo Moscow.
RBF president Sergey Chernov, VTB senior vice-president Andrei Peregudov, VTB League CEO Andrei Shirokov and club’s representatives also talked to the media. The tournament format and perspectives were also presented.
“We are glad to start the new basketball project on the first day of the winter, - CSKA CEO Andrei Vatutin said. – During this difficult times we work together on the progress of European basketball. The development of the new league looks very interesting, and it’s organization is of highest level. For us it is very interesting to make this league successful both in sports and commercial meanings. I would like to mention also that this tournament is not the alternative to any other – this is absolutely new project.”
