CSKA Won Because Of Defense

Dusan Ivkovic: It was very strong and tough game. Like other games in the beginning of the season CSKA was good in the first and fourth quarters, and lost concentrate in the middle of the game.

My players were very good in defense today. UNICS has good statistics in 2- and 3-points. But today they scored only 18% of 3-points throws thanks our defense. I would like to thank my players for this game. It was difficult for them because they had very tough game in Spain at Thursday.

- I think that this game had consisted from three levels. In the first quarter we couldn’t do anything against Holden and fast breaks of CSKA. In the beginning CSKA scored many free throws. I think that some decides of the referees were not correct. But the main our problem was Holden and fast breaks.
When we turned to the zonal defense the course of the game has changed. It was very nervous basketball in the second and third quarters. We couldn’t score points because CSKA players very good in the defense. But neither our team neither CSKA didn’t show game that we can. Thank wonderful defense CSKA managed with our offense. My team was losing 17 point but they could equalized the game. It shows they have very strong character.
