CSKA to start the Euroleague season in Napoli
The Euroleague Draw determined CSKA rivals in the Group C for the regular season. They are CF Winterthur Barcelona (Spain), Benneton Treviso and SS Basket Napoli (Italy), Fenerbahce-Ulker (Turkey), Zalgiris (Lithuania), Pau-Ortez (France) and Aris Thessalonica (Greece).

It was announced that the opening game of the tournament would be held between two teams of the Group B Joventud and Panathinaikos in Badalona.

- The draw of the Euroleague for the first time was held in September, - says CSKA Senior Vice President Andrey Vatutin. – That is the reason why several club did not complete the roster yet. As for us we wanted to get a very strong group in the regular season and we got it. There is no ‘groups of death’ in the current Euroleague as there are superclubs and the clubs that are ready to beat the superclub in the list of the teams. We have an opportunity to be involved in a true contest from the very start of the tournament. We have CF Winterthur in the group and everyone remember our last meeting in the Final Four as well as the previous tough games. The CSKA – Zalgiris match-up attracts the audience in the both countries since the Soviet Union period. We have a chance to play Benetton and the head coach of Russian National team David Blatt.
