Thank you, Evgeny!

Due to mutual agreement Evgeny Pashutin is leaving our team and takes a head coach position in UNICS Kazan.

The 2009-10 season at CSKA helm was the second for Evgeny Pashutin as a head coach. He reached serious success with the team winning the VTB United League, Russian Cup, Superleague Championship and Russian League playoffs, taking the third place in the Euroleague after eighth in a row qualification to the Final Four.

Evgeny spent very good period of time in CSKA system, including his work with main and junior teams, as well as Spartak St. Petersburg. A year ago he was not afraid to take the responsibility for titled and established team which was formed mostly before his arrival. I am sure that Pashutin is one of the best Russian coaches today. In course of time he could become the worthy successor of Russian National Team head coach and to create fully operational institution of National Teams in Russian basketball. Our plan was to recommend him for this position but he preferred to work with the club and to accept UNICS Kazan 2-year agreement. Taking into consideration his desire and long-term perspectives in Kazan we found it possible to agree on this move. We wish him success and express our most heartfelt thanks to Evgeny for his work in our club.

Evgeny Pashutin:

I am thankful to CSKA for the understanding of situation. I learned a lot in the club and I was always doing all I can to achieve top results. Why I took this decision? Day-to-day intensive work of club coach attracts me, it differs a lot form the work of the National Team coach. Now I have an ambitious and perspective possibility to build my own team in two years, to create the team’s structure, to realize all my knowledge and ideas. I’d like to say thank you to all CSKA fans, club’s staff for their support and contribution to our common successes.
