Smodis joins CSKA!
Slovenian forward Matjaz Smodis signed a 3-years contract with CSKA. The player spend last five seasons in the teams of Italian Bologna – three in Kinder and the last two in Fortitudo. Before that Smodis was the leader of Slovenian KRKA.

By the way, Smodis played in Kinder under Ettore Messina guidance.

Smodis agreed to say several word to our web site just after he put his signature under the contact:

Was it hard for you to make a decision to move to Moscow?
- Yes. The move means a lot to my family. Russia is not so close to Slovenia as Italy is. The other fact is that my son is going to start his schooling this year. And in general we had to fix a lot of stuff before moving. To tell you the truth I was a little bit afraid to take the disicion.

But then what attracts you mostly in CSKA?
- I was impressed with the warm welcome of the team. And in general the relations between the players, and the stuff are just like in a big family. And of course I am really excited of the opportunity to work with Ettore Messina once again. I guess it would really make my first days in Moscow easier. And of course the fact that CSKA sets the highest goals in all of the competitions makes the work more interesting.

When are you going to join the team?
- I guess in the end of August. On the 28th, if I am not mistaken.
