After the end of the 2004-05 Euroleague Draw CEO of PBC CSKA Sergey Kushchenko has comment the results of it:
Without doubt, the most serious groups are B and C. 2 teams who played in the last Final Four - Maccabi and Montepaschi - are in the group B. Zalgiris is traditionally strong. Barcelona is giving an additional charm. And others teams: AEK, ASVEL and Olimpia are always ready to defeat favorites. One of these clubs can become the best sixth teams of the group stage.
Our group also has strong squad. Six of eight clubs played in the TOP16 last season. Panathinaikos and Benetton are always strong. Pau-Othes is the team that always can defeat any opponent especially if they will play like last season. Ulker is getting stronger for the next season, Unicaja has signed Garbajosa. There are 7 teams of the same level in our group and there is no real favorite.
We do not want our team to be under pressure like Barcelona and Maccabi last years. They were under sport and outside pressure. That is why before the Final Four in Moscow we says that CSKA in one of 24 teams which are going to start in the battle for the Euroleague champion title.
