Messina clinic came to a successful finish in Barcelona
The first-of-its-kind On-Line Clinic with Ettore Messina came to a close on Sunday with well-deserved diplomas awarded to an elite group of students. 50 of the 74 course participants from 23 countries on all five continents spent four days just outside Barcelona learning first-hand from the head coach of CSKA Moscow.

Messina and two of his CSKA assistants, Lele Molin and Claudio Crippa, filled the weekend with instruction on a lengthy list of both on- and off-court subjects of universal concern to coaches. That list included coaching philosophy, player and opponent scouting, pick-and-roll defense and offense, peripheral vision and passing, attacking zones and other topics. In addition to on court lessons and practices with 36 players at their command, the course participants had all weekend to consult Messina with any of their questions.

Messina also invited the course participants to keep in touch and contact him with problems and questions. He even invited any who wished to come to Moscow and watch CSKA practice.

Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:
- It was a very interesting clinic. Main part was conducted through Internet and it was the first experience of that kind for me and Euroleague. For the final part in Barcelona Euroleague invited Claudio Crippa and Lele Molin. It was very important because with their help we were able to give all the participants the complete outlook of how CSKA works. Everyone seemed to be happy so I am glad with the outcome.
