Russian National Team boarded the charter flight and went to Ankara today to play in Group C of World Championship Preliminary Round. CSKA is represented in Turkey by four players, three coaches, doctor, physiotherapist and the dance team.
Russia’s head coach David Blatt announced the roster yesterday and unfortunately it did not feature Alexey Shved because of tough competition on guard positions. The player will have a rest for several days. He will join the preparation camp on Monday together with teammates J R Holden and Trajan Langdon.
Therefore CSKA will be represented in the National Team by Sergey Bykov, Alexander Kaun, Victor Khryapa and Andrey Vorontsevich as well as by coaches Dmitry Shakulin, Sergey Zharmukhamedov, Georgy Artemyev, doctor Alexander Zykov and physiotherapist Asker Bartcho. The decision to play or sit out Khryapa will be taken upon his rehabilitation after the injury suffered in the friendly game versus Croatia. CSKA coaches and medical staff in Ankara will stay in contact with their colleagues in Moscow in order to control Victor’s health.

August 29: Turkey vs Russia. 22:00 MSK
August 31: Russia vs Côte d'Ivoire. 17:00 MSK
September 1: China vs Russia. 17:00 MSK
September 2: Greece vs Russia. 19:30 MSK
The four best teams in the group will participate in 1/8 finals, which will be held on September 4-7. 1/4 finals will be held on September 8 and 9, semi-finals – on September 11, third place and final games - on September 12.
CSKA Dance Team in the preliminary round will perform during the games of Group B, which will be held in Istanbul.
