First newcomer of the summer: Daniel Hackett
Italian National Team guard Daniel Hackett (30 y.o., 193 cm) signed 2-year contract with our team. The newcomer passed the medical tests in GMS Clinic yesterday.

The player’s father Rudy Hackett spent most of his career on Apennines, he got married there; Daniel was born in small town of Forlimpopoli there. The young man grew up in Pesaro where his mother lives and went to the United States to study in school and University of South California where his father works as a conditioning trainer.

Hacket Jr. started his pro career in his homeland. He consequently played for Benetton, Skavolini, Montepaschi and Olimpia Milan. Daniel played just three last years abroad defending the colors of Olympiacos and Brose Bamberg. He also constantly plays for the National Team, taking part in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017 Eurobaskets as well as in 2016 Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Hackett is considered a defensive ace but he improved his shot recently. In 26 EuroLeague games last season he averaged 9.6 points (58.2% of two-pointers, 36.9% of three-pointers, 80,8% of free throws), 2.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 0.4 steals in 24.0 minutes; in 26 Bundesliga games – 10.3 points (52%, 42%, 83.3%), 4.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 0.6 steals in 25.2 minutes.

Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:
Daniel is a player that provides the whole package of skills for our team. He has strong character, he is experienced guard who played on highest level of EuroLeague competition. Hackett can cover three positions and he is very motivated to play for us. We talked several times, and he sounds really thrilled to play for CSKA, he cannot wait for the season to start. So, as I said, Daniel will provide us with size, ability and motivation, and we welcome him on our team.
