Our team started to prepare for the upcoming 2010-11 season today. The list of players is mixed yet – minus Russian National Team players and the head coach, plus players from junior project.
The day-off in the National Team schedule allowed not to conduct the first practice under direction of foreign coaching staff – Dmitry Shakulin joined his colleagues. Without Dusko Vujosevic who coaches Montenegrin National Team in Eurobasket Qualifying Round the players will practice with assistant coach Saso Filipovski at head and conditioning coach Vlado Radonjic who worked with Vujosevic in Partizan for two years. It should be mentioned that Georgy Artemyev who works with the National Team now will stay in the club’s structure.
“Our goal is to estimate the physical conditions of the players and to prepare them for more intensive practices which will be conducted by Dule Vujosevic on our camp in Slovenia, - Saso Filipovski said. This camp is also a good chance to see the players from junior teams. We’ve chosen six guys and we will try two more players. Most of the practices will be devoted to physical preparations. After five days we will start to introduce our system to the players.”
The main team is represented by six players – Zabelin, Kurbanov, Marjanovic, Smodis, Sokolov and Siskauskas. The flight delay did not allow Gordon to participate in the first practice. He will join his teammates in the morning. Holden and Langdon will arrive to Moscow in a week because they are always in good shape after vacations and they do not need the first week to work on their conditions. The team was joined by juniors – Barinov, Bychkov, Gudumak, Loginov, Polokhin and Tikhonin.
