The Fortune is knocking on the door
Chances to qualify for the Top 16 stay theoretical for our team. CSKA will do everything possible to use them. First step is the game vs Valencia at home on Wednesday.

The team started its intensive preparations from Monday with Trajan Langdon joining his teammates after missed game because of back problems. Still the team lacks Artem Zabelin (cold) and the guard Denis Polokhin was called from junior team. Alexander Kaun continues his rehabilitation in the USA after knee surgery, Victor Khryapa (ankle) practices individually.

“We know coach Svetislav Pesic very well – he is famous coach, who won a lot of trophies and has the experience of working in Russia, – CSKA interim coach Dmitry Shakulin said. He did not change much in Valencia’s system, making just some corrections. He also made some rotation changes making Pietrus his starting power forward and moving Savanovic further to the perimeter. Valencia’s guards play very aggressive defense with the athletic front line cleaning their mistakes. In the away game, we made too many turnovers and forced shots, which led to fast breaks. We did not defend their pick-and-roll properly, opening too much space. We have done a lot of work already to correct it and we hope that at home we will play an absolutely different game.”
