Our team will officially start the 2010-11 season on Wednesday in a game of Round 1 of VTB United League regular championship. Lithuanian champion Lietuvos Rytas will be CSKA’s opponent.

As well as in two preseason tournaments CSKA will miss four key players. Andrey Vorontsevich, Viktor Khryapa and Alexander Kaun continue to recover from injuries, JR Holden left for Germany in the morning to examine his heart problems. In turn, guests also will take the floor without their captain - Steponas Babrauskas is out because of injured wrist.

Army team’s captain Khryapa (ankle) will begin practicing individually soon. Vorontsevich (shoulder) continues to work with athletic coach Vladan Radonjic. At the same time, Alexander Kaun (knee) practiced with the team for the first time on Tuesday though his participation in the game is not planned.

"I am pleased that the doctors allowed Sasha to play without restrictions, - CSKA head coach Dusko Vujosevic said. This means that his knee is healed. After one workout, of course, it does not make sense to use Kaun. Therefore, we will use our young players again, and we will name them after a morning workout. Lietuvos Rytas is a typical Lithuanian team which likes a fast game with lots of pick-and-roll. They have a number of good shooters as well as some interesting ‘bigs’. I would advise fans to look closely at Valanciunas - perhaps the best player in Europe in his age."
