Army men in NBA: students and teachers

European part of sports camp for young sportsmen Basketball without borders takes place in sport complex of CSKA Igrovoy in Moscow this year. It is organized by NBA together with FIBA and RBF.

As usual sports camp has collected a lot of young talents from 25 European countries. There are 5 Russians among the sportsmen: Alexander Antonikovskii (Spartak, Saint-Petersburg), Alexander Gankevich (CSKA-DUBL), Konstantin Kulikov (Girona, Spane), Viacheslav Fedorchenko (Triumph), Rostislav Cherkashin (Vidnoe). By the way Kulikov and Fedorchenko graduated from CSKA sports academy too as Gankevich did.

Trainings are spent by coaches and players of NBA. Young sportsmen’s instructors have become ex-players of CSKA Andrei Kirilenko and Alexey Shved (Minnesota Timberwolves), Timofey Mozgov (Denver Nuggets), MarShon Brooks (Brooklyn Nets), Danny Green (San Antonio Spurs) and Brian Cardinal (NBA Player). Also it is planned to see ex-players of CSKA Dmitri Domani, Sergey Panov and Valeri Tikhonenko as sports camp participants.

All players are divided into four teams. Each team is coached by a NBA player and a NBA coach. During four days campers will have seminars, active trainings and wonderful possibility to perfect their skills. In the end of each day teams can prove their forces in games.

Besides the regular work it is planned to visit Children’s Home No.59 which is supported by Kirilenko’s Kids fund. All-Star Game will finish the work of sports camp Basketball without borders on Sunday.
