Three more CSKA representatives, other than the Russian national team players, took part in the first leg of Olympic basketball tournament. Nikos Zisis, Ramunas Siskauskas and Zoran Planinic scored in double digits to finish their respective games.
Only Greece suffered the setback – it came from the world champion Spain (66-81). Zisis played 18.37, scored 10 points and made 2 rebounds.
Lithuanian national team in the dramatic game defeated Olympic champion Argentina (79-75). Siskauskas scored 10 points, made 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot in 30.19. He also scored a crucial free throw just before the buzzer.
Planinic took part in confident Croatia victory over Australia (97-82). CSKA newcomer came from the bench, scoring 12 points along with 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in 15.55.
