Not-so-famous team from the second largest city in Finland has its noticeable marks in the history of CSKA having fought until the end in two games of now nonexistent NEBL. Honka will step on the floor vs Muscovites again on Saturday in VTB United League game.

The game will be the first for coaching tandem of Dmitry Shakulin and Andrey Maltsev who stepped up for fired Dusko Vujosevic and Sasa Filipovski. The coaching staff will face the problems CSKA used to have: ankle injury leaves Victor Khryapa out, Alexey Shved (lumbar spine) probable for the game. Matjaz Smodis is disqualified.

“Honka’s game is dependable of the American players who play on guards and center positions, - CSKA interim coach Dmitry Shakulin said. Their offense is more of one-on-one game, their ‘bigs’ do not post up much preferring to cut under the basket. Our task is to complicate their game by help defense and to make the opponents’ leaders work more which will give us a chance to use the advantage of longer bench. At the same time with all the changes we went through it is more important for us to think about our own game, practicing new schemes and combinations.”
