The group stage of the Euroleague for our team will finish on Wednesday evening, with the final buzzer of Cibona – CSKA game. Today the team departed to Zagreb for the final round of the Euroleague Top 16 which is not important in terms of Group H standings.
Dozen of basketball players who boarded for the flight to Zagreb misses Ramunas Siskauskas (left adductor muscle) and Andrey Vorontsevich (military service). At the same time Artem Zabelin is included into the list of passengers. The young forward recovers from the knee injury and will not play.
“This game for us is a matter of pride and respect towards our opponents and Zagreb fans, who are very experienced and understand basketball very well, - Ettore Messina said. So I hope that both CSKA and Cibona will concentrate on playing a good and fair game. The evening will also be very important for Zoran Planinic who will play against his former team for the first time in his life – he missed the game in Moscow because of injury and I know he wanted badly to play. One more time we will play without Ramunas Siskauskas, who got injured during Monday practice”
In comparison with the meeting of the teams in Moscow Cibona will miss center Bruno Sundov who recently signed with Menorca from Spain.
