Today in the evening the plane with CSKA players aboard landed in Greek capitol where they will play the game of Euroleague regular season 2nd round against Panionios.
Our team went to Athens without injured Matjaz Smodis and Artem Zabelin. Alexey Shved was also left in Moscow where he will practice together with the junior team: young guard was not included by coaches in the dozen of players participating in the game.
In Ledra Mariott Hotel Theodoros Papaloukas joined his former teammates despite the national holiday in Greece. Theo also promised to visit tomorrow’s game.
Ettore Messina:
“I consider Panionios a well-coached, very organized team. I expect a difficult game though we coming off the good showing against Milano team. We need to play good defense against Panionios’ pick-n-rolls and shooters and to stay patient on offense”.
