Tonye Jekiri stays with CSKA

The Nigerian basketball player is one of the key elements of the team, which won two consecutive VTB United League titles. In both seasons, Jekiri played for the red-blues mainly off the bench - out of 103 games for CSKA, he only made it into the starting lineup in 11, while constantly playing a key role on the court.

In the past basketball year, despite a slightly reduced playing time (from 19.9 to 19.2 minutes), he improved his main stats. In the 2024-25 season, he averaged 10.7 points (after 8.2) and 5.2 rebounds with a PIR of 14.7 (after 11.8). It is also interesting that Tonye not only attacked the basket well from his usual spots (57.4% of two-pointers, 80.0% of free throws), but also made 5 of 12 three-pointers, including a psychologically important shot from the arc in the Finals Game 6.
