Theodoros Papaloukas extended his contract
Greek guard Theodoros Papaloukas extended his three years contract with CSKA for one season more. This means the player would perform for the Army club up to the 2009/10 season. Besides, the NBA clause was excluded from the contract.

- I think the final solution for the regular offseason question: ‘would he stay or would he go‘ was never expected that much, - says CSKA Senior Vice President Andrei Vatutin. – Extension of the contact is the deal not only for CSKA but for European basketball in general. The best player of the continents stays in Europe and not leaving for the NBA as most of previous Euroleague MVP. This is just another confirmation of the Euroleague level progress. For us the extension of the contract was one of the main task for the offseason and we are happy.

- I tried to go to the NBA, - says Theodoros Papaloukas. – But I did not receive any written offer from the teams I wanted. I did not get exactly what I wanted. Five years with CSKA were the perfect experience and I am happy to stay with the team.
