Yesterday evening CSKA forward Sergey Monia returned to Moscow from USA. We asked him to share his expressions about America and draft.
What are first impressions from USA?
I came to New-York, USA for the first time. It is very big and beautiful city with a big number of skyscrapers. And there are many peoples on the streets.
Tell us about the draft, please.
All in America knows about the draft. All press: newspapers and television are announcing it. Many people asked me if I am going to take part in the draft or from what country I come. It is always pleasant to know that you are participate in such event.
What did you do after the draft?
Next day I and Viktor Khryapa went to Portland. There we met to the CEO of the team John Nash and to the head coach Maurice Cheeks. All players are on the rest now, so I met only drafted persons: American Sebastian Telfair and player from Korea Ha Seung-Join.
I took part in one practice. We had a tour of the city. I took part in the presentation and press-conference where I received T-shirt of Blazers with my name. I received number 12 and Viktor - 38.
Did you come with Viktor Khryapa?
No, I returned alone. Khryapa stayed in USA.
What are going to do now?
Today I will go to Saratov. I am going to have some rest. On July I will go to the training camp with the national team to Novogorsk.
