The Assembly approved the addition of CSKA Moscow to the Euroleague Board in place of Alba Berlin. Representation in the Euroleague Board is nominal in nature and, in the case of CSKA Moscow, the honor will fall upon the club's CEO, Sergey Kushchenko.
Sergey Kushchenko to represent CSKA in Euroleague Board
The Assembly approved the addition of CSKA Moscow to the Euroleague Board in place of Alba Berlin. Representation in the Euroleague Board is nominal in nature and, in the case of CSKA Moscow, the honor will fall upon the club's CEO, Sergey Kushchenko.

The Euroleague Assembly met in Kaunas, Lithuania and approved several new measures, among them the introduction of a new, expanded awards structure. One of them - the Alexander Gomelsky Coach of the Year Trophy in honor of the legendary coach and current president of CSKA Moscow. Also Assembly decided to increase the number of awards during every season. New rules will start to work from this season.

The following is a list of the awards to be given during the 2004-05 season:

- MVP of the Week

- MVP of the Month

- Euroleague MVP (Regular Season, Top 16 & Playoff)

- Euroleague Final Four MVP

- Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy

- All-Euroleague First Team & All-Euroleague Second Team

- Euroleague Rising Star Trophy

- Euroleague Best Defender Trophy

- Aleksandr Gomelski Coach of the Year Trophy

- Euroleague Club Executive of the Year Award

Finally, the Assembly also approved a measure instructing the Euroleague and the Board to continue negotiations for holding the 2006 Final Four in the Czech Republic capital, Prague.

Tonight all Assembly members will go to the open-game between Zalgiris and Maccabi. During this game Alexander Gomelksi and Sergey Kushchenko will present the special prise to the center of Kaunas club Arvydas Sabonis. Zalgiris is celebrating 60-year birthday this year.
