CSKA opens the new season of One Team – the joint social project of the EuroLeague and clubs, aimed at adapting people of tough social categories with basketball. This year, our club will continue to cooperate with the Boarding school of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The school trains the daughters of servicemen who serve in remote military garrisons, from incomplete and large families, children of deceased servicemen and participants of military operations awarded with state awards for military duty.
The Olympic champion, One Team Ambassador Sergey Tarakanov and One Team manager Yakov Tarasov arrived to meet the new cadettes and greet the well-known pupils. 20 girls gathered in the cozy school gym. In the beginning of the clinic Sergey Tarakanov told the newcomers about himself and what kind of clinics will be. The Army Men veteran gave them the main message: “If we do something, then we do it well.” Then he asked the captain of the basketball team how they fare in the new season – the cadettes participate in the Moscow League. The first practice of the season was successful: after the warm-up, girls worked on their defensive skills in pairs, tried themselves in the new relay that develops team spirit and desire to win, and trained the game plays proposed by Tarakanov. His task was not only to transfer his skills, to inspire participants, but also to share real exercises that can help girls in games.
