On December 28, 2002 Lithuanian newspaper Lietuvas Rytas published the interview of Darius Songaila, player of PBC CSKA about his staying in Russia and playing for PBC CSKA. Extracts of the article were published by Russian mass media. The analysis of the newspaper article gives the reason to come to the conclusion that the player speaks offensive about CSKA.

As stated in the Club Regulations approved by the general director of PBC CSKA, players cannot make any statements discrediting the Club. Following the contract signed between Darius Songaila and PBC CSKA, the player agreed to comply with the Club’s internal rules and regulations. Therefore the public statement of Songaila violates the terms of the contract.

In accordance with the Club Regulations the management takes the following decision:

- suspend Songaila for today Euroleague game against Asvel,

- impose fine of 50% from the month salary.
