Our team will have a busy Orthodox Christmas Eve: in the game of VTB United League regular championship CSKA will host UNICS Kazan, its main competitor in the battle for the first place in a group.
In comparison to previous game CSKA will have an addition: Ramunas Siskauskas recovered from illness and practiced with his teammates. Alexander Kaun (knee) and Victor Khryapa (ankle) are out yet.
“This game is of Euroleague level for us, - CSKA interim coach Dmitry Shakulin said. UNICS is a serious opponent, athletic and high quality team. Our teams play similar style of game because we shared coaching philosophy with Evgeny Pasutin for many years. Our previous meeting in Moscow resulted into defeat for us in free throw lottery in the end. The loss dropped us down from the first place in PBL, and we reminded the players about that. Hopefully our fans will leave their holiday home parties aside to come and get the load of emotions.”
