The second day on international tournament Vilagarcia Basket Cup-2005 did not become easy for CSKA junior team. The day before Barcelona defeat Estudianted and probably Sergey Bazarevic team did not expect such tough game.
The second day on international tournament Vilagarcia Basket Cup-2005 did not become easy for CSKA junior team. The day before Barcelona defeat Estudianted and probably Sergey Bazarevic team did not expect such tough game.
In the early beginning only Nikita Kourbanov who scored 12 points was on the high level, and the first quarter was over with equal score: 19-19.
In the next 10 minutes CSKA woke up, took the initiative and started to increase their advantage. Far throws of Marchenko and Sheleketo put CSKA to 8 points ahead: 47-39.
But after the return from the locker rooms the situation started to change. After the big advantage of Army team by 19 points Estudianted could recover and startedtheir spurt: 62-56 before the last quarter.
Then Mestres and Jasin presented their team advantage, and CSKA started to play much more agressive. On last seconds (78-77) Nikita Kourbanov stopped attack of Spanish team by block shot and then Igor Smygin scored last 2 points in the game in the fast break.
