Spartak St. Petersburg will test our team on its first step on the way to the main prize during the Russian Cup Final Four. The game will be the second in the pair of semifinals, it will start at 8:30 pm in USH CSKA.

A day before the last day to add the player to team’s roster permitted by RFB regulations CSKA management got the player’s license for Matjaz Smodis. But this does not mean that Slovenian forward will return to playing games soon. Matjaz continues to practice individually. The license is necessary to use the player in the final part of the season.

“Spartak defeated Krasnye Krylia with a big margin, and that shows clearly what kind of opponent they are, - CSKA head coach Evgeny Pashutin said. Cup’s games are very special and that adds to the meaning of every game. It is very important to stay concentrated for all 40 minutes. Spartak likes to play fast, so ur task will be to slow the opponent down, to be patient and balanced on offense. We should pay more attention to Rakovic and Pashutin. At the same time all the starters are good enough to defend them well.”
