The first home game of the season for our team will start early. CSKA and Krasny Oktyabr will step on the floor at 1 pm on Sunday.
“It’s our second game of the season and the first game at home,” CSKA head coach Dimitris Itoudis said. “We host Krasniy Oktyabr, the team that changed their foreigners in the offseason, they added some quality players. It all starts with DJ Cooper who pushes the pace and create high-tempo offense for the team. On the wings the opponents have Mitchell and Hamilton, who can shoot the ball and create for themselves. They are also very athetic with Johnson at 4 and 5, who is playing above the rim and spreads the floor. Volgograd team also has quality reserve players with experienced Sokolov, Zaitsev and Matejunas coming off the bench. Our goal will be to make stops. Krasniy Oktyabr proved in both official games and scrimmages that we scouted that they are very dangerous. They beat Vita with huge margin and came back from being down 23 against Zenit to make it one-possession game. We expect it to be tough, especially considering the absences in our roster. So I wish we will have many fans on the stands who will help the team to play better basketball.”
