Two best clubs of Russian Superleague will meet in the final series of the championship. Our team owns the home-court advantage against Khimki, so two first games will be played at USH CSKA.
One of the best seasons in club’s history (the team lost only 6 times in official games) will be incomplete without the title. After missing the chance to win the Russian Cup and Euroleague title, CSKA hopes to win the trophy which felt to the hands of red-blue team for 15 times in 17 years.
Upon finishing the semifinal series against UNICS the team was practicing in customary mode. Matjaz Smodis missed the practice on Monday because of the minor injury. Victor Khryapa also had a leg bruise during the practice. But both forwards were in the service on Tuesday.
“We are happy that we earned the right to play for Russian Championship title again, - CSKA head coach Ettore Messina said. It will be not easy to win it versus Khimki – the opponents play strong against us traditionally. We count on Khryapa’s help in the first game, as for Smodis, we will take the decision on a game day.”
