On Wednesday at 21.30 our team will start the final game of Euroleague 2008-09 regular season. CSKA who already guaranteed the first place in Group D will play against Partizan Belgrade who still fights for the place in Top 16...
On Wednesday at 21.30 our team will start the final game of Euroleague 2008-09 regular season. CSKA who already guaranteed the first place in Group D will play against Partizan Belgrade who still fights for the place in Top 16.
Serbian champions arrived in Moscow on Tuesday missing only injured power forward Zarko Rakocevic. In the evening the team will practice on USH CSKA court.
To continue the play in Euroleague Partizan needs the victory. But the loss also leaves our opponent with a good chances to qualify. In fact, ‘grobari’ do not like two cases, both – if Real will lose to Efes Pilsen in Madrid. First case: Armani Jeans defeats Panionios in Athens. Second case: Armani Jeans loses to Panionios 5 points or less, nor 31 points or more.
CSKA was practicing in normal rhythm and head coach Ettore Messina do not plan to review the playing times in a game, meaningless for the team standings:
"We played a difficult game in Belgrade against Partizan, and though we are happy to assure the first place in Group D, our task is to win the game at home. I plan to use all our veterans and to keep the team concentrated. The last round of the regular season is very important for many teams and we should show our respect to all the opponents who are trying to get to the Top 16."
