Forgetting Olympic principle
Our team will play in Ljubljana in the Game 9 of the Euroleague regular championship. Slovenian Olimpija is the only team which lost to CSKA in the first leg. To continue playing in Europe it is necessary to win again and to hope that the other games of the day will be finished properly.

It can happen that CSKA will play Olimpija with Olympic principle in mind: possible loss of Panathinaikos to Efes Pilsen in Istanbul will close the door to Top 16 for our team. Otherwise CSKA will have to win to decide the outcome of the regular season in its final game.

Probably for the first time this season coaching staff have 13 players available for the game. Only Alexander Kaun, who continues the rehabilitation of his surgically repaired knee, stays out. All others are boarded Transaero Airlines Boeing today. Team captain Victor Khryapa joined the others. He practiced with his teammates in limited mode after CSKA returned from Minsk. He will be the gametime decision.

“Olimpija is one of the biggest surprises of this year’s tournament, - CSKA interim coach Dmitry Shakulin said. They made great addition in Pinkney, they have good post-up player on SF position in Gregory, Jagodnik and Markota with their deadly outside shooting, Ilievski who solidifies the backcourt. Olimpija likes to pack their paint on defense so you have to have at least three good shooters on the floor against them. It will be difficult for us because Slovenian team plays great on its home court. We have a difficult task ahead of us, but we will do our best to stay alive and we will hope other games will be finished the way we need.”
