Spartak has a good roster but found itself in the bottom of the standings. The team from St. Petersburg is ready to start climbing at any moment. CSKA will try to postpone their run on Tuesday.
The game against Spartak will be the last for CSKA in 2009. After the game the team will go to vacations and return to practices on December, 30th. CSKA began its preparation on the next day after defeating Azovmash in full roster with exception of Matjaz Smodis. Spartak arrived to Moscow on Monday planning to practice on the main court.
“After the difficult start of the season Spartak is starting to find its style of basketball, and the games of Eurocup showed that, - CSKA head coach Evgeny Pashutin said. Our opponents’ crisis came to end, they are hungry to win and seeking for the moment to take their first win in the Superleague. Therefore we are taking the game very seriously; we are planning to build our game off the defense and to please our fans before the New Year.”
