We met recently
The team from Nizhny was the Muscovites' opponent in the game before last. And that meeting cannot be called easy - Sergei Kozin's team resisted a lot in the first half but failed in the second, when CSKA's offense began to show miracles of effectiveness. At the same time, the black-and-whites demonstrated that they are a difficult opponent, and Parma soon felt it. Despite the absence of injured Dmitry Khvostov and Igor Volkhin, as well as the dismissal of Matica Rebec, the Nizhny Novgorod team confidently beat the Perm team twice in a row - first at the end of the regular season, having won back the home court advantage, and then in the play-in game. The last meeting, by the way, was especially successful for the team's foreigners: Nemanja Djurisic scored 21 points, and Alex Hamilton added 11, plus 8 rebounds and 8 assists.
A long break, a lot of work
Our team has not had such a long break between games since the February window for the national teams. Since the past week was dedicated to the play-in, our team was waiting for an opponent and was left on its own in terms of preparation. Naturally, the coaching staff took the opportunity to polish the plays, especially since the red-blues are working at full strength.
"The season is resetting right now, and we are approaching the most important part of the year," notes CSKA head coach Andreas Pistiolis. “Nizhny is a team that had some good games against us and they are the only team outside of top-4 that was able to beat us. So we can expect a tough and interesting series. Still I believe that in this matchup everything depends on us.”
