Johannes Voigtmann remains at CSKA

The German big man played 109 games for CSKA with 43 starts. The 2020-21 season was statistically the best for Johannes: he averaged 9.1 points (63.7% two-pointers, 44.8% three-pointers, 81.2% free throws), 5.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.4 blocked shots in 20.3 minutes on the floor. With the team Voigtmann became the champion of the VTB United League and Russia, he was named March MVP in the VTB League.

We continue our collaboration with Jojo, we believe he has a lot of space for improvement left in his tank. He went to the Final Four for the first time with our team, he won VTB League and Russian championship titles. He is very motivated, he has great knowledge of the game, he can play multiple positions as forward and center, he has the ability of stretching the floor. There is a lot of progress in his game and I am pretty sure that Jojo will improve in many aspects of his defensive and offensive game. We are happy to have him for another two years.

Obviously I am very happy that the club and I decided to continue for two more years. I am very happy to stay in one of the top clubs in Europe competing for titles. After those two years with one season being cancelled and the other being a very difficult one I feel like we have some unfinished business, we gotta make a push for two very successful seasons, to continue to develop as a group. I see big potential in the team and I hope to be a big part of it.
