PRE-GAME BREAKDOWN

CSKA have already lost three consecutive times in the Euroleague, and five in a row, taking into account the VTB League. Maccabi is in the opposite situation. The Tel Aviv side has won five previous games in the Euroleague alone.

CSKA currently occupies two opposite first places in the statistical tables. The Red-Blues are the most productive team of the tournament (80.9 points), while having the worst defense that allows 82.9 points with 59.8% of two-pointers.

Upon their return from Kazan, the Army Team started working immediately: on Monday morning the team was busy with physical training in Krylatskoye. Today the players have already stepped on the Megasport floor.

Ivan Ukhov (ankle) stays out for CSKA. Nikola Milutinov (knee) played in the previous game and is fully working with the team. The condition of the rest of the basketball players who were worried about injuries - Marius Grigonis (back), Alexey Shved (shoulder), Dani Hackett (ankle), Alexander Khomenko (knee) and Johannes Voigtmann (illness) - will be evaluated by the coaches and the medical staff on the day of the game.

PRE-GAME QUOTES

Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:

We continue our journey and we play against a very serious opponent, Maccabi established much better game lately. During the last month they play all together, they practice all together and they show very good and competitive basketball, especially on the road but also at home. They have a streak of wins and they do rely a lot on physicality, well-organized game and the quality that they have in each and every possession when they can provide things from every player, on different spots, individually they can create shots for themselves and teammates. That’s a team that we respect a lot. Regarding us we are in the process, as I said, of bringing back injured players and giving them minutes, to get our chemistry back. Unfortunately, we have missing players again and again, but that’s a fact that’s happening all around. It hurts us but we are not going to use it as excuse, we gonna go there and play our heart out to bounce back in front of our fans.

Kenneth Faried, CSKA center:

We are ready. We’ve lost five in a row [including VTB League game]. We are getting guys back, coach is excited, the guys are excited to come back and we are excited as a team. We are just ready to focus, to lock in and finally get one.

Ох, хорошо бы... Но Отелло уж очень хорош... Из всех, ушедших после победы в Ф4, искренне жалею, что не удержали именно его.
