The Christmas holidays are gone, and CSKA continued his winning series in Russian league defeating CSK VVS Samara.

CSKA vs. CSK VVS-Samara: 85-54

Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:

“This game is not enough to call it a good omen for the next part of the season but I hope to consider it as a good omen for the upcoming important games. This game the good chance for the young players to show themselves but their play – with the exception of Sasha Kaun – was just disgusting. Only Sasha played with enthusiasm. I don’t know why but other Russian young players are always unhappy – with the money they make, with everything. I keep telling them that most of the people in Russia work hard for 8-10 hours a day to earn incomparably less money. I cannot do anything with their unhappiness. As for Sasha he has had the bad times in his life, he knows what it is to work hard for the better future”.

Valery Tikhonenko, CSK VVS head coach:

“We don’t have much interesting and difficult games of that kind in our schedule. We used this game as an opportunity to integrate Clansy in our schemes – he joined the team only on December, 28th. As for the game – we lost on the rebounds and made too much mistakes to have some hope against CSKA. For sure we have the different tasks but we still have to respect the opponent”.
