A spurt after the visit to Moscow
The October setback became a thorn in the Army Men's sides. The next two meetings with Evgeniy Pashutin's team ended in routs for the Ural team. However, these games were also beneficial for their opponents, adding motivation for the next stage of the season. After their previous tough defeat to CSKA, BETCITY Parma won six of their seven games, breaking into the top three of the tournament.
Perm's top scorers remain namesakes Brendan Adams (16.4 points, 6.0 assists, 38.3% three-point shooting) and Jaylen Adams (13.7 points, 4.0 assists, 1.7 steals, 40.6% three-point shooting). Next in line are Terrell Carter (12.8 points, 6.1 rebounds), who caused considerable trouble for the Army Men in that very first meeting, and Victor Sanders (10.6 points). Meanwhile, young big man Gleb Firsov (9.8 points, 4.2 rebounds in 14.2 minutes) remains prominent in the coaches' rotation.
One of the big challenges
Before Aeroflot's regular flight departure to Perm, the Army Men held two practices in Krylatskoye, on Thursday and Friday. Antonius Cleveland joined the team for contact work, although he will miss the trip due to family reasons.
"This is one of the biggest challenges we've faced in a while," said CSKA head coach Andreas Pistiolis. "BETCITY Parma is one of the league's top teams, but they're playing completely different on their home court. In Perm, they beat us, UNICS, and Lokomotiv. So we need to come out on the court focused and 100 percent motivated."
