The first win came hard
CSKA managed to win the first game in Russian Superleague against Spartak-Primor’e in Vladivostok. After the first half the team was down by 10 points but won 3 points in the end. Theodoros Papaloukas did not participate in the game due to the muscle injury he received in Cologne. On the other hand CSKA had Alexey Savrasenko in the line-up.

Spartak Primorje - CSKA: 78-81

Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:

- We won a very tough game. Spartak played smart. They used their strong points; we can not defend against their pick and roll in the first half. In the second half we decided to use our guards and thanks to the switches we managed to solve the problem. We managed to win also because of David Vanterpool effort. It was our first game in the championship and I hope we would improve game by game. As for Spartak they can do well in the league. They have good coach and good team chemistry.
