If the Nicosia tournament had a system, CSKA would have brought home the cup. Our team won three games out of three, beating Olympiacos on the last day...

Dimitris Itoudis, head coach of CSKA:

Congratulations to the team on a victory in another serious game. Today we started the game perfectly, and then controlled its progress until the very end. Of course, there were some downsides, but we played against Olympiacos, a very inventive team with a great coach. Despite their comeback, we were in control. I would like to note that today we read almost perfectly the opponent's switches and tried to use them. In general, we understood well how to play against Olympiacos' defense. Three games of this tournament helped us get a feel for where we are now. It is clear that our team is not yet fully ready to act at full speed, but the guys fought and showed respect for the game. I am pleased with the progress that we showed after the tournament in St. Petersburg. Of course, by this time we are not yet fully ready for the season, but we have definitely laid the foundation with which we can work further. I'm talking about mentality, effort, fighting for loose balls. Therefore, now I am satisfied, while we are realistically assessing the situation. We are focusing on the next game - the semifinal of the VTB League Super Cup against Loko. We didn’t have as many friendly games to which we are used to, but despite this, we will approach the game with the proper concentration and motivation. I am also glad that Dani is ok, which means that we will be in full strenght.
