Triumph — CSKA U19, 25 April 2010

The final game of Junior Basketball League championship was the real thriller. Young CSKA players were trailing to Triumph for the most part of the game but managed to push the opponents to overtime and won in the final seconds.

“We felt down only once – in the beginning of the second quarter. First of all because we lost concentration on defense. We discussed everything during the break, and played strict and reliable basketball in the second half. I can say it probably for the first time this season: our players executed our plan distinctly. They played very emotional defense, stopped the opponent shooters Karasev and Varnakov, showed disciplined offense. We were trailing in the end of fourth quarter but used our secret weapon – zone pressure, which allowed us to won a number of key possessions. When the game went to overtime we were sure that we will not let the win to slip away from us. I’d like to mention Loginov specifically – he scored a number of key baskets in the end.”
