Another clinic in the Boarding School of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation within the One Team, a joint social project of the EuroLeague and the clubs – its ambassador Olympic champion Sergey Tarakanov and the project manager Yakov Tarasov devoted to motivation.
We would like to remind everyone, that the school is for the daughters of servicemen who serve in remote military garrisons, children coming from incomplete and large families, children of deceased servicemen and participants of military operations awarded with state awards for military duty.
Motivation is considered one of the main elements of life as an athlete. It was decided that the third clinic will be held without basketballs, the girls sat down around Sergey and listened to him with great attention. It was not necessary to give definition of motivation to the girls, having hardly heard the subject, they were eager to discuss the subject.
As an example Tarakanov shared his main motivation. It is love – to the sport, to the sound of the bouncing ball, to those emotions that basketball brings. The One Team ambassador fell in love with the game from the first acquaintance at school. Remembering the USSR national team with which Sergey won the Olympic Games-1988, he admitted that it was enough for him to be considered part of the team, he wished to reach bigger goals with the club and the national team, and no material benefits could replace the delight he felt coming out onto the court in his team uniform.
Motivation is what moves the person, forcing him to strive for success, despite all barriers. Mentors told that this concept is closely connected to ambitions – the first subject of a series of clinics, that motivation – is in partnership with success, and took an interest whom the girls want to become in the future and why. In spite of the fact that all the cadetesses study in sports class, preferences concerning the choice of future occupation are absolutely different. In 10 years girls see themselves as journalists, travelers, artists, restaurateurs and so on, this fact very much pleased mentors who advised them to not pay attention to difficulties and to safely move towards their goals.
