Despite the effort by Riga side our team did not allow the third game in a row to go to overtime. Baskets by Krstic and Weems in key moments created enough space to win in the end.

VEF Riga: Robinson (7 + 6 rb), Nix (10 + 3 rb + 4 as), Janicenoks (7 + 4 pf), Brown (18 + 10 as + 3 st + 4 to), Kuksiks (19 + 5 rb), Bajramovic (23 + 6 rb)…

Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:
As you know we played in Krasnodar on Friday and today we faced just another excellent team. With additions of Bajramovic and Kuksiks VEF looks much better team than it was in the opening game of VTB League. They look bigger and have more good shooters. So we can be only happy to win. We played good as a team. From the other side there were a couple of bad moment. We started the game not so well which is natural when you’re playing second away game in three days. And we let the opponents run in the beginning of the second half then the lead went from 11 to 2. This created problems for us.
