Ivan Edeshko has passed away

The author of the legendary "golden" pass at the 1972 Olympics, a world champion, a two-time European champion with the USSR National Team, a European Champions Cup winner, and an eight-time USSR champion with CSKA, was a true pioneer of the game. He became one of the first tall point guards in world basketball, making spectacular moments a natural part of games and a factor in big victories.

After retiring from basketball, Ivan Ivanovich dedicated his life to coaching. As part of the USSR National Team staff, he won another World Championship gold in 1982 and three Russian championships with CSKA, both as a head coach and as an assistant. Having retired from active professional work, Edeshko continued to mentor young players and coaches, actively sharing his experience, knowledge, and immense energy at seminars and master classes, and passionately supporting both CSKA and Russian basketball.
