Guard Alexander Khomenko (21 years old, 192 cm) signed new “2+1” contract with our club.

Khomenko was raised as a player in Belgorod (first coach – Victor Shved), he works in CSKA system since he was 15. During the last couple of seasons he constantly works with the main team. A year ago Alexander debuted in EuroLeague, this gave him a title in the end of the season.

The guard played just one VTB League game for the main team last season but he was unconditional leader of CSKA-2. In Superleague-1 games he averaged 14.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 steals in 26.6 minutes.

Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:
Khomenko works with us since my first year with CSKA, he was always under supervision of our coaching staff, he participated in preseason camps and played in games. He was more actively involved into our team for past couple of seasons. I see that Sasha is very dedicated, motivated to progress. He was always a kid intended to grow. Working with us, Khomenko got the invitation to the National Team camp. It is great that we have good young players in our system, we keep an eye on them and ready to give them a chance.

Alexander Khomenko, CSKA guard:
I am happy to sign the new contract with the club were I grew up, the club I consider my home. To become a full-time player for the main team is a huge step forward in my career. It became possible thanks to the work in the youth project together with all coaches and teammates, I’d like to thank everyone of them. Obviously, big thank you to Dimitris Itoudis, coaching staff and club’s management for the trust in me. I will do everything possible to continue improving, to justify all advances and to deserve to be called a CSKA player.
