Our team organized good practice for itself before the playoffs by getting into tough battle against Maccabi. By winning in the end CSKA broke the streak of losses which lasted from 2003.

Maccabi Tel Aviv vs. CSKA: 76-81 (+5)

Maccabi: Rice (15 + 7 as + 4 to + 4 pf), Hickman (1 + 4 to), Ingles (4 + 4 rb), Tyus (6), Pnini (6), Ohayon (6), Blu (14), Landesberg (13 + 3 rb), Schortsanitis (11 + 5 rb + 4 pf)…

CSKA: Micov (7 + 3 to), Fridzon (5), Jackson (18 + 5 rb), Pargo (4 + 4 to), Krstic (4 + 3 rb + 4 as), Weems (14 + 5 rb), Vorontsevich (4 rb), Kaun (12 + 2 bs), Khryapa (8), Hines (9 + 3 rb)…

Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:
Even though the game meant nothing in means of standings we had a game of two great teams which played with pride and desire. Everyone wanted to finish on good note. We played good first quarter, horrible second quarter, mainly on defense, and decent second half where we defended and rebounded well. I’d like to congratulate my players on how they performed in Top 16. We lost jut two games despite all problems and injuries. But the competition is so strong now that even by getting home-court advantage we have to play PAO or Olympiakos in playoffs as a reward.
